Hipsters are a breed of creature that tend to elicit mixed responses from the masses – admiration (perhaps), bemusement, even outrage. I for one believe there is a little hipster in all of us. Any time you have ever protested or refused conform to the norm, is in fact an out-flowing of your inner hipster essence. That’s science. Upon a recent venture to Brooklyn in NYC I took a trip to Bierkraft to sit down and have a few pints. I also had some packaged goods on the mind. Bierkraft has an awesome selection of bottles to grab out of their cold cases and sometimes decisions can be tough. There are bottles and cans from around the world; common beers, rare beers, and weird beers fill the cases and shelves, essentially a liquid Mecca for any beer nerd out there. What is the first thing that you think of when you hear Orlando Florida? You might think about Disney Land, Universal Studios or that it is hot as hell most year there but do you ever think about craft beer? I don’t know about you but when I travel around the country the number one thing on my radar, no matter where I go, is craft beer. No to far away from the highly flooded tourist section from Orlando is a strip of highway called East Colonial Boulevard that is home to numerous eateries and bars but there is one bar that stands out from them all and that is Oblivion Tap Toom. AFFLIGEM POURING RITUAL
I got this neat little piece in the mail the other day from the folks over at Total Beverage Solutions in South Carolina. Announcing their 2nd Annual Affligem Pouring Ritual Contest, Affligem is excited to share this gift with over 100 consumers with an offering for a grand prize trip to Belgium to visit the Affligem brewery. SAVE’R 4 LATR
A few weeks ago I took a trip down to Carton Brewing, in hopes of being present as they brewed the pilot batch of their collaboration beer, Save’r Fer Latr, with the gang from Barrier Brewing Company. Save’r Fer Latr is a Saison brewed with Cherry blossom, pink peppercorn, and hibiscus flower created for the beer drinkers that are coming into town for Savor, an upcoming craft beer event in NYC. DOGFISH HEAD AT MOHAWK HOUSE
Here is a short film we made for our friends over at Mohawk House from a recent event they put on with Dogfish Head Craft Brewery. With such a wide portfolio of beers, Dogfish Head took over 18 of the 50 taps at Mohawk House for the evening and brought in a stellar crowd.
