While they have always been around, I’ve seen the tide of session beers rise over the past several years, with more and more breweries turning out flavorful, drinkable beers that you can have a few of without taking the harder hit of a big beer. One session beer that I am particularly fond of is 21st Amendment Bitter American.
This is an extra pale ale that will have hop heads rejoice; Bitter American is loaded with Warrior, Simcoe, Centennial, and Cascade hops which give the beer an incredible nose. Mix that with the Two Row, Munich, and Crystal malts on the grain bill and you have one tasty pale ale.
21st Amendment has some of my favorite presentation around. Always clever and right to the point, they even give you a crash course on the bottom of their packaging telling you why cans are awesome. I’m excited to have this beer year round now. It gives me something to look forward to when I don’t feel like purchasing one of the bigger beers off the shelf. 21st Amendment has done a great job with this brew and I hope we can see similar session beers like this one on the market real soon.
