There are some beer bars that are a must go to if you are a craft beer drinker. No matter what state or city you are in, someone has something to say about an awesome tap room providing multiple lines of good craft beer. We have more then a few spots here in NJ and upon a reading a recent article in New Jersey Monthly I found quite a few of my local watering holes made the list. There was one how ever one on the list that I have been meaning to check out. The bar is The Coppermine Pub and it features one of the best rotating draft lists in the area. Whether you are into sours, belgians, local beers or stouts, Vito Forte has something to pour up for you.
The Coppermine Pub is located in North Arlington, New Jersey just outside of Newark. Like most bars in the area, it is just a bar, but an awesome bar at that. It has a nice neighborhood feel to it, a lot of the patrons are regulars giving it an almost Cheers like feel. The only difference between Cheers and The Coppermine Pub is a rotating tap list of 20 beers and a wide range of styles from our domestic craft breweries like Schlafly and Smuttynose to imports such as Trois Dames and Birra Del Borgo.
With 20 taps flowing Vito always has something interesting on. He even keeps a nice bottle selection just in case you aren’t in the mood for draft.
What is a beer bar without some awesome decorations. Everything from tin tackers too empty bottles line the wall of the Coppermine Pub.
I was drawn particularly to one wall that had a whole slew of bottles on it. This is such a mecca for beer drinkers that patrons often bring rarities from their travels or trades to share with one another, how awesome is that?
On to some beer, The Coppermine was hosting Carton Brewing Company out of Atlantic Highlands New Jersey for the evening. All together there was 13 taps filled with some of Jerseys finest with brewery only exclusives like Carton Canyon and Swisher. Not having an SS Twenty Twelve since the summer it was a no brainer that I would be having that.
I mentioned New Jersey Monthly above, they had such great things to say about The Coppermine Pub and while we were, one of the regulars brought in a laminated copy of the cover and article for Vito to put on display.
I am so happy I took this trip, The Coppermine Pub is not a bar to sleep on. Between the local neighborhood atmosphere and the variety a beers available it is easy to see why this place is so popular. Vito is doing great things here so if you find yourself in the area stop in for a pint and find out for yourself why The Coppermine Pub is one of the best bars in New Jersey.
