THE STIRLING HOTEL

Yesterday Steve and I journeyed to one of New Jersey’s finest craft beer destinations – the Stirling Hotel. Located in Long Hill, the former town inn has been home to this family style tavern since the early eighties, offering great food and drink along with a friendly and comfortable atmosphere.  Beer geeks, restaurant management, and local brewers alike have been talking this place up; needless to say we were eager to take this trip to a historical jersey monument to grab a bite and check out their awesome beer selection. SALT

Last Wednesday we took a trip up to a little place called Salt – a gastro pub serving up food and beer for locals of Sussex County, New Jersey. The afternoon was quiet, overcast, and a bit chill; it was the sort of day best spent indoors with a cold drink and a hot plate. Continue reading “SALT”

BARCADE JERSEY CITY

EDDIE’S ROAD HOUSE

While visiting Mistucky Creek a few months back, we were tipped off about Eddie’s Road House. Now I had heard about this place from a few people – rotating taps, cask, and an excellent food selection were all I needed to hear to take the trip. Eddie’s is a small family run bar located in downtown Warwick, NY. The area is traditionally known for apple picking and wineries, and now the craft beer movement is establishing a foothold in that heritage. Some of America’s best breweries have found their way to this little town, with every bar having some sort of craft offering. Continue reading “EDDIE’S ROAD HOUSE”
