We don’t have many brew pubs here in New Jersey 10 to be the exact number and yet I feel they are over looked as a source for good food and great beer. Brew pubs live in the shadows of big breweries under the radar turning out some of the most interesting and freshest beer around. Over the next few months we are going to visit our local brew pubs here in NJ and we are going to kick things off with Trap Rock Brewery & restaurant in Berkley Heights. THE TWISTED ELM
A few months back I was searching for some video editing inspiration and came across a fantastic film of a little restaurant called The Twisted Elm Tavern. At first I thought I was watching a video from a place far away until I heard a very familiar name and the face to go with it. I couldn’t believe my eyes, it was Chef Albert Scazafave from the long forgotten South City Grill restaurant group, I then knew that this place was local for me and I had to go. Not having to deal with the wanna be martini drinkers and craziness of of an upscale restaurant, Chef Al has helped developed The Twisted Elm into a very comfortable tavern with a great selection of beer and an awesome gastropub menu to go with it. The newest casino in Atlantic City – Revel – houses one of the most interesting beer bars that I have visited. Continue reading “MUSSEL BAR BY ROBERT WIEDMAIER”
NICOLES TEN
After the last few years, I believed we had the local bar scene covered backwards and forwards. In this case, I’m happy to have been caught unawares. Nicole’s Ten in Randolph New Jersey is most certainly a worthy destination. Continue reading “NICOLES TEN”
TAP HOUSE GRILLE
It has been quite some time since we featured a beer bar on I Drink Good Beer. With the holidays being so busy it is tough for us to get out there and find new places, but now that things are slowing down we have rejoined the fray. One bar that is standing apart from the competition these days is Tap House Grille in Wayne, NJ. With 24 taps of rotating beer and an extensive bottle list, it is becoming a favorite destination for craft beer drinkers around New Jersey. Continue reading “TAP HOUSE GRILLE”
