TAP NY PART I

TAP-NY 1There is nothing more exciting than getting ready for one of the best beer festivals on the East Coast. If you have followed us in years past, you know that we always attend TAP-NY at Hunter Mountain. TORST

IMG_9239There are so many places pouring craft beer in the city that it is almost impossible to decide where you want to drink sometimes. Do you want to grab a pint? Do you want to just get a sandwich and a growler fill? Better yet, do you hit the busier bars in Manhattan, or do you go to the more quiet sections of Brooklyn or Queens to have a more low key day? With some of our favorite bars residing in Manhattan it can be difficult to bring ourselves to go a little further to the other boroughs of the city, but that was not the case this past Sunday. We have been meaning to check out Tørst since they opened last March. TAP NY AT HUNTER MOUNTAIN

Entrance

Every year, breweries from throughout the Empire State gather here to pour up some of their best beer and take home bragging rights (there are a number of awards up for grabs). Since we last visited there has been an exponential growth at TAP NY. This year’s ticket sales neared 6,000 purchased passes for both the Saturday and Sunday sessions. EDDIE’S ROAD HOUSE

While visiting Mistucky Creek a few months back, we were tipped off about Eddie’s Road House. Now I had heard about this place from a few people – rotating taps, cask, and an excellent food selection were all I needed to hear to take the trip. Eddie’s is a small family run bar located in downtown Warwick, NY. The area is traditionally known for apple picking and wineries, and now the craft beer movement is establishing a foothold in that heritage. Some of America’s best breweries have found their way to this little town, with every bar having some sort of craft offering. Continue reading “EDDIE’S ROAD HOUSE”
