I recently came across a can of DC Brau‘s The Citizen from our good friend Wes over at Mussel Bar in Atlantic City. Coming off a strong Belgian kick from drinking pales and saisons at the restaurant, The Citizen seemed like the perfect way to get my last fix for the day.
A flavorful Belgian pale ale coming in at 7% abv, this is the strongest beer in DC Brau’s year round portfolio. Reading about the brewery online here and there, I was eager to crack open this product from our nation’s capitol.
I opted to just drink it out of the can as I had neither tulip nor goblet to pour it in. I found the beer full of flavor, and although it might not be a session beer I would start my night off with a couple of these. Aside from the great brew within the can, the outside of the can has a fact about the District of Columbia itself. Each can usually has something different on it; I am totally into the idea of collecting all the facts. Having just this little taste of DC Brau has me wanting more, and I hope to bring you more about his brewery real soon.
