A few weeks backĀ I had the pleasure of meeting Carl Oelker from Toucan Mobile Canning via our friend Tyler at Iron Heart. Since mobile canning has taken off around the country, there are a lot more people getting into the game and seeing as it is one of my favorite segments of craft beer as of late, I couldn’t help but to write a little piece about Carl and Toucan. RIVER HORSE BREWING PILSNER
Since we last visited River Horse for our expansion film, they have been quite busy filling their fermenters full of delicious beer for drinkers in the tri-state area. Since moving, they have brought back their lager game and have started to make smaller batches of other lager beers including a Dunkel Lager and a Pilsner that is in their Brewer’s Reserve series. THE BRUERY SHEGOAT
There are a lot of malty beers out there and they come in many forms. Some of my favorites come from the lager family and a lot of them are of German descent. One of the best German style lager’s out there is the Weizenbock and those looking for an authentic malt forward beer can really enjoy this sort of brew. A recent beer haul from our friend Erik at Getting Dark Beer Blog landed us a bottle of The Bruery’s take on the Weizenbock and man were we excited to try it. Continue reading “THE BRUERY SHEGOAT”
VICTORY BREWING SWING SESSION
We really like Saisons here at I Drink Good Beer so when one of our favorite East Coast beer makers crafts a sessionable Saison for the spring, its a no brainer that we have to feature it. Victory introduced Swing in the late winter last year to make us forget about the dreary cold days of the North East and this year it is has made its return. Most breweries making session beers these days are trying to flood the IPA market and tend to forget the other styles out there that can be sessionable as well. TROEGS CRAFT BREWERY
Troegs has been on my radar for quite some time now and long overdue for a visit. Troegs is one of the first breweries that opened my mind to the world of craft beer, the result of which drives what I am doing today with this website. Last Wednesday, Steve and I headed westward towards Hershey PA to check out the new Troegs facility, sample some great beers, and nurture hopes of drinking Nugget Nectar from the fermenter.
