If you are on the Dogfish Head trail. There is no better place to go than their brew pub in beautiful Rehoboth Beach. This is where it all started for Sam and his off centered ales and you can find most of the DFH line up on tap here as well as some rarities you won’t see around town or even the brewery.
It is like night and day compared to the production facility. We went from seeing a 200 barrel brew house to this one that is a little over 2 barrels. Not only that but there are only a few fermenters here and they house some really cool small batches that will only be found on tap here.
Aside from them producing small batches of beer here. All the Dogfish Head spirits are made at the brew pub as well. Something they are in the process of moving over to the big spot in Milton.
They even do some barrel aging here.
The brew pub packs in a crowd almost immediately, every single day. They have a big local following and almost every craft beer goer from out of town pays them a visit.
You have to appreciate the decor here. There was almost too much to photograph.
After getting a tour of the grounds it was time to check out the beer list and do a little sampling. As stated above. Brewing and Eats features most of the DFH line up as well as some small batch stuff.
With so many things on the list. Getting a flight is your best option.
You could always grab a pint too. Festina Peche was tasting real proper here.
How about food? They have everything from pizza to burgers here. Coming off their recent scrapple beer, it was only fitting to try their RAPA Scrapple Burger.
Unfortunately there wasn’t anymore Dogfish Head related things for us to visit on this trip. Who knows. Maybe they will have something new and exciting for us on our next visit. Not just for us but for the beer drinkers that come to the area to experience Dogfish Head. Thanks to everyone at the brewery, pub and motel for the hospitality and showing us around.
