We love Against The Grain and we love Stillwater. What happens when the two get together to make a beer? You get a bottle of liquid that is so fruity, slightly smoked and full of brett.
Some of you might turn you nose up at smoke beers and that is a shame. Not all of them smell like campfires or taste like bandaids. The smoke flavor in this brew is there but very subtle and plays along nicely with the brett characteristics of the saison. Although we didn’t get much of the sage, it was really tasty and extremely drinkable. As we sat around guzzling it down, we wish we had another bottle to crack.
This has to be one of the coolest collab beers we have had since SS Kentucky. Against The Grain continues to impress us with their smoke beers and we can’t wait to see what they do next. Cheers!
