Its not to often we get to feature an importer here on the blog but on our recent trip to OEC Brewing, we got an inside look at B. United International. If you aren’t familiar with them, B United supplies 45 states here in America and the reason we get to enjoy great international beers like; Hitachino, Schneider Weiss and Reisdorf Kolsch. It was a blast checking this place out and an eye opener into the importing business. Enjoy the photos.
This room houses most of their stock. Everything from bottles and kegs of your favorite imports can be found here. Yes those Schneider Weiss kegs are upside down and for good reason. They remain like that until they are tapped so you can get the full flavor of the yeast, giving you a refreshing, murky beer.
Aside from cool storage, they do some warm beer conditioning. Here are some kegs of Alvinne Wild West Sour.
Aside from all the bottles and draft they bring in. They also have these massive tankers that house around 120 barrels of beer. With seven in total, they could be any where in the world get filled with delicious brew.
From the tanker they get kegged up or put into a tank for further conditioning like dry hopping and dry spicing.
The vintage beer room is not a place where beers go to die but rather condition further.
Here you find beers that sometimes make it to market and some that will never leave this basement.
Certain beers like this Russian Imperial Stout from Courage are cool to see after twenty plus years in the basement.
There is also some newer beers to be found here but its mostly a sample stash for sales calls.
We have much more to dive into here with our visit to OEC so stay tuned. Thanks to Tony for kicking things off with a look at B United. It was an unexpected part of our journey and we can’t thank you enough.
