Our latest film with Carton Brewing is live, and it is one interesting beer. Being a fan of cuisine, Augie looked back at a dish from his honeymoon, and was instantly excited to try and recreate the flavor in the beer. I first found out about Firefly Hollow Brewing from my friend, Jeremy White. Jeremy has mad a few short films for them which we just love, and after watching them a few times over, it just left us yearning to take a trip out to Connecticut, but we just needed a little more motivation to take the two hour drive from Jersey. That motivation came about a week ago when I received word that our designer here at IDGB, Sara Guyre, had won their design contest for an up coming beer they plan to can called, Cone Flakes. It’s harvest time for hops, and a lot of breweries are putting out their take on what a harvest ale should be. Troegs has come up with one that is so damn delicious, it needs to be made year round. All I have been reading, and hearing on untappd is “this is what Nugget Nectar should be” “Damn this is good” and “I think this is the best beer they have ever made.” While I agree with all those statements, it is tough for a brewery to get fresh hops like this all the time, thus hindering them from making a dank beer like this all year long, and we should enjoy this one for what it is.
