A recent trade with our friend Robin out in Golden, Colorado landed us a few cans of awesome from a brewery called Upslope located in Boulder. What sparked the trade was a mini documentary I had watched on the Denver scene, where they spent ample time at Upslope interviewing the owner and brewer discussing everything from self distributing to starting their brewery in the midst of a hop crisis. HALF ACRE BREWING OVER ALE
It has been a while since we featured that can of Daisy Cutter, so we thought it would be proper to pay respect to another great beer from Half Acre Brewing (out of Chicago). This time we are featuring their hybrid beer Over Ale. Hybrid you say? That’s right – Over Ale lies somewhere between brown and ESB, and quite frankly is not for everyone. GOLDEN CITY BREWING MAD MOLLY’S BROWN ALE
In this great state of Colorado there are a lot of very good breweries; some really big, some really small. I live in Golden, home to the largest single brewery in the world (one that I’m not really a fan of). Fortunately, this makes it kind of a beer town. The first happy hour in town starts at 7am. Just for the night shift folks at Coors. But Golden also has one other brewery, the Golden City Brewery. Their slogan is “The second largest brewery in Goldenâ€. Continue reading “GOLDEN CITY BREWING MAD MOLLY’S BROWN ALE”
